Is the Blackberry P'9981 overated

The blackberry P9981 has cosd a lot of people to ask questions about the price of the phone since the release of the phone but the question people refuse to ask is which class of people was the pone made for. In this article r a few tins you should knw about the Porsche design blackberry P9981.
Porsche, known for it’s luxury and fast cars, has decided that the top executives for their company deserve more than just any old Blackberry; they want one that is made for their executives. The result of this has lead to the creation of their very own smartphone in a partnership with BlackBerry which is the Porsche Design Blackberry P9981, which even sounds like a sports car but it won’t feature a twin-turbocharged engine or racing suspension, but those interested can at least expect a cool looking design.
The smartphone has a very solid feel and is in very limited production which is one of the several reasons for the cost.
What Distinguishes the Porsche Blackberry?
The Porsche P9981 is crafted using expensive (if not a bit unnecessary) materials, giving the phone a more heavy and solid feel to it. The back of the phone is wrapped in a very cool leather material.
The P’9981 is eye candy. There’s no question it’s an artfully made piece. Porsche and RIM appeared to put a solid amount of TLC into the pone, and it shows in its craftsmanship. The entire body is forged out of stainless steel. The battery cover is wrapped in real leather, each individual key on the QWERTY keyboard is made of metal and the navigation buttons sitting below the screen are fashioned out of individual pieces of glass.

Measuring in at 115 x 67 x 11.3mm (4.53 x 2.64 x 0.44 inches), it’s one millimeter wider, an eight of a millimeter thicker and 25 grams (0.88 ounces) heavier, but it justifies its extra heft with a reassuringly solid feel.
And yet, its resemblance to the 9900 is unmistakable. There’s a reason for this: they’re essentially the same phone. Much like its sibling, the P’9981 sports a 1.2GHz Qualcomm MSM8655 CPU and 768MB of RAM, 2.8-inch touch screen with a resolution of 640 x 480 (giving it a pixel density of 286ppi), BlackBerry OS 7.0 with Liquid Graphics, a 1,230mAh battery, GPS, NFC and a 5MP rear camera with an LED flash and 720p HD video capture and in addition a Wikitude World Browser augmented reality app experience.
The most shocking thing about this handset is not what it looks like but how much it costs. £2000 pounds. Roughly N350,000

£2000 is a lot to pay for any phone, for that amount of money you could get a run around car!
However, it is still a phone that does its job- which is to make the executives at Porsche Design feel superior to those with the traditional Blackberry users. But with a price tag like that, it is hard to see why anyone would want to join them, unless of course you’re going through a mid life crises and want to have a Porsche in the driveway and a “Porsche” in your pocket as well.
